Do I need to file an Export Declaration Form (EDF) for my service exports?

Yes, from 1 October 2026. Under RBI's FEMA 23(R)/2026-RB regulations, every exporter of services or software declares their exports on an Export Declaration Form (EDF). That includes freelancers, agencies, consultants and IT companies. The EDF replaces SOFTEX.

You file it with your bank, which the rules call your Authorised Dealer. Software exporters can file with their bank or with STPI. The EDF goes to your bank, not to Winvesta.
